a5c7b9f00b With Majin Buu defeated half-a-year prior, peace returns to Earth, where Son Goku (now a radish farmer) and his friends now live peaceful lives. However, a new threat appears in the form of Beerus, the God of Destruction. Considered the most terrifying being in the entire universe, Beerus is eager to fight the legendary warrior seen in a prophecy foretold decades ago known as the Super Saiyan God. The series retells the events from the two Dragon Ball Z films, Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' before proceeding to an original story about the exploration of alternate universes. 6 months after the defeat of Majin Buu, The mighty Saiyan Son Goku continues his quest on becoming stronger. OK for anyone who's bored to read this long review I'll sum it up in a few lines. I believe that the only reason DBS exists is to make money. To milk the cow. It's like Weekend at Barney's in how I met your mother. They take a corpse they put clothes, sunglasses and make up on it and move it around like it's a living person. It's not. This is humiliating for Dragon Ball and for Toriyama…I'm wondering isn't he bit ashamed of what he's done?

Anyway the long review now….

If I could rate it with under 1 I would give it -4. Dragonball Z has a lot of mistakes and inconsistencies and things that make no sense at all. I believe it started going downhill after Cell saga. Where Goku doesn't have time for 2 instant transmissions but still stays for 2 or 3 minutes to say goodbye to his son and his friends….OK sure. I heard that after Cell saga Toriyama wanted to make Gohan the main character but guess what? The fans didn't want that. So still the only one who could save anyone was of course Goku. Goku when fighting fat Buu says I'm not gonna kill him because the younger generation must defend earth. First of all that would make sense if that generation could do that but they were facing an enemy that could destroy the universe not some criminal that was threatening 100 lives. Buu was threatening the entire universe. Moreover in the end he ends up doing exactly what he said that he won't do: saving everyone in place of the younger generation….Not only that but he didn't save Goten, Trunks, Gohan HIS OWN SON and Piccolo from earth's destruction but Satan, Dende and a dog….There are so many things that are wrong in DBZ that it's really mind boggling..These things served only as a way for Goku to be glorified again….For what? Why did Goku ALWAYS had to be the one to save anyone? For money I believe….Money will make Dragon Ball continue till the end of time.

Anyway sorry for the long review of some events of DBZ but I'm trying to prove a point here. So DBZ started making absolute no sense after Cell saga for money and I think it's the exact same thing that happened in DBS.

DBS is so bad that I don't know where to start. It's like they are not even trying anymore….And you know what? They aren't. Because now they have a target group. Now it's only a business. And I believe this target group focuses at ages of 16 at max…..

Violence and generally the darker aspect of DB the one that we adults loved was reduced to a Teletubby's level.

Have you noticed that there isn't a single drop of blood at Super? Have you noticed how Gohan was shot full of holes by Frieza and he looked like a plastic dummy? Have you noticed the muscle reduction? The only people that looked muscular anymore are Goku and Vegeta. Gohan one of the most powerful beings in the universe had his muscles reduced to these of a junky in a matter of years and go look Tienshin Han…They all look like Pokemon trainers for Christ's sake!!!

As I said before that started in DBZ where money took over and any forward movement stopped. Why Goku wants to be the strongest no matter how strong he is? What does power mean to Goku? Is power more important than his family? What Vegeta feels now that it seems that he can never surpass Goku? Why Gohan was never shown feeling guilty of having his father killed because he was overconfident in his power? Does Gohan really wanted to be a scholar? Throughout DBZ we seem that he liked fighting a lot more that studying.

Also this abomination the omni king…Why if he gets upset he will destroy the world? And of all people in all universes guess who the most powerful being in existence wants to hang out with. Goku. Yeah sure. What happened to the principles of Buddhism that Japan is heavily influenced by? Gods in DB are either good hearted aliens ( that old Piccolo dude, dende ) or entities of infinite power that they seem to be tyrants or monarchs who think people lives are not important and what matters is only that they are pleased and satisfied. Which are these Gods dutys? To act like 5 year olds?

And why everyone is obsessed with Goku? It's really annoying.

Now let's talk about fighting.

Is this any good? No. This is terrible. I've seen gifs of basketball players going SSJ and do slam dunks that are way more exciting than all of DBS and its movies. As someone else said in their review fighting is reduced to ki blasts and the exact same punches over and over till the end of time. No new techniques no new interesting punches or kicks no new cool animation showing the energy in their movements like these gifs I mentioned….

Finally about the animation…If you have eyes you can see it. If you don't compare Cell saga or Bojack unbound with Super. If you still don't see it go to an ophthalmologist. Compare new characters with old ones. Compare Bulma with old Bulma. Compare Videl with the Videl in Broly returns. The new Videl looks like she had a stroke and is drawn like she is a character of Dora the explorer while the old one looks like a character from an anime FOR ADULTS.

To conclude if you are an adult like me who grew up with DragonBall and respect it please don't do this to yourself and go watch One punch man or something i have one word to describe it and that is "Awesome" Haters would say what they want to but this series has brought the old memories back and i would say there would have been no better way to continue the old series.

Spoilers… To the people who have seen the movie "Battle of the Gods" I would recommend to let pass some of the beginning episodes as the same story has been used to kick start the series as if you let that go there are many new adventures and twists waiting for you which are way way better than the rhetorical movies coming up these days. I have seen Japanese version and English version is yet to be out.In the end enjoy the thrilling series and refresh your childhood memories.
